Liz + Hunter | Modern Art Museum

Houston residents, Liz + Hunter grew up in Fort Worth and since that’s where their love story started, it only made sense to come back for their wedding. They chose Broadway Baptist where both of their parents were married. We keep the ceremony space simple with flanking arrangements and tons of votive candlelight on the wood carved altar walls to pay tribute to the simplicity of their own parent’s weddings.  Liz wanted a natural feel of garden paired with their reception venue, the Modern Art Museum. Our team had to create a design that felt soft and approachable like the outdoors but inside the walls of the museum. Because of venue limitations on hanging, etc we partnered with Beyond Lighting to bring in heavy lighting posts that would basically allow us to hang cafe stringer lighting indoors as though we were outdoors. We affixed greenery to our lights, again giving texture with lighting and height making an illustration of garden seating. Soft dove grey linens paired with simple floral in white, grey and heavy greens gave the perfect complement to the concrete/grey walls of the Modern. We popped other details of garden inspired items such as the hedge wall for the escort card display, low hedging playing facade to our band setup, wooden bar fronts and furniture vignettes near the reflecting pool. The cake was simple and modern with a grey wash of color near the top tier. Floral detail behind and in front to show how lovely the blooms and architecture become one.

Lauren + Hunter | Private Ranch

Our team had the pleasure of transforming this beautiful Spanish inspired estate for Lauren + Hunter’s big day. The beautiful home’s architecture and 70 acre ranch was the perfect setting to become inspired. We specialize in outdoor wedding logistics and knew a beautiful sperry tent was a must in the unpredictable weather that is Texas. This palette was a favorite and complemented the transition of summer tones like pink and peach into fall tones of brown and burgundy. The ceremony altar was constructed by a freestanding and freely formed arch. Guests were greeted with a glass of bubbles, stringed musicians and beautiful seating looking out at the family’s ranch where cattle had free roam. Our bride’s wedding party wore deep burgundy and carried loosely tied blooms. The groom and groomsmen wore shades of navy and grays.

After the ceremony, cocktails and light bites made way around the beautiful property whether by the pool, overlooking the pond or on the immaculately manicured lawn. Moving into dinner, our tables were dressed in a soft pale gray with floral in fall tones. As the Texas sun set, the tent began to glow and lights twinkled throughout the night over the open air, wood dance floor. We used loose greens and candlelight throughout to soften our tent and infuse a romantic feel. Our cake design was sweet and approachable with a subtle watercolor detail and fresh blooms.

Styled Editorial | California Coast Inspiration

Anyone that knows me knows how much I am in love with California. The variances in landscape and terrain is remarkable. I like to plan a few trips there each year just to get inspired, make new vendor relationships and create fresh content. This trip was all of this and so much more. We were able to connect as a team and create something truly beautiful. Our design was influenced from the beautiful, historic mission of San Juan Capristrano with it’s terracotta walkways, over-sized cacti, and gorgeous arched walkways. All of my favorite things at once!! Our palette complemented it’s environment with rusty shades of gold, creams and brown/reds with a blue tone in the fabric for an unexpected pop. Our table setting was constructed from a primitive wood table and bentwood chair pairing. Floral vessels were a trio of vintage terracotta pots that gave a design lending of being unearthed. They referenced beautifully back to the influence of the mission. With a soft, organic blue fabric that pooled to the sides of the table and dramatically dripping taper candles, who would NOT want to dine at this dreamy scape?! We used hand turned ceramic dinnerware and a knotted simple linen napkin to keep our table relate-able. The purpose was the fit the design within the environment, not to compete. Loving details can be found throughout, from hand drawn illustration of the mission to beautiful jewelry, and one very stunning bride.

Lauren + Hunter | 809 at Vickery

Led by our lead planner, Jennifer, this wedding is full of personalized detail and charm. Lauren’s wedding day started at a beautiful historic mansion in Fort Worth where her ladies enjoyed inspiring decor, bubbles on ice and one gorgeous sprawling suite to get all dolled up. From chandeliers and velvet chaise furniture to dramatic stairwells and ornate stain glass, this space was fit for a queen! Once ready the girls headed to the lovely Robert Carr Chapel where her groom, Hunter, would be waiting for their first look. And of course, they had to include their baby pup for the big bridal reveal!! Lauren’s maids wore mismatched dresses in shades of pastels and held loosely tied blooms in peach, cream and gold. After the couple said their “I do’s” they headed to 809 at Vickery for a romantic night under the twinkling of lights. We designed lush crawl floral garlands, gold accents and tons of candle light to transform this warehouse event space. One of our favorite details created custom for Lauren + Hunter was the hand dyed cake backdrop with the words “I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart”, one of the couples favorite love poems by EE Cummings. What a magical night!

Hailey + Christian | BRIT

Hailey & Christian came to our team with a little over 4 months to pull together their perfect day. Finding a venue that would fit the couple’s edgy modern style proved to be a bit difficult because of our short time frame. That was until we thought of the PERFECT venue that many don’t know about in the Fort. The Botanical Institute of Texas next to the gardens can be rented for private events. With great architectural lines and overgrown greenery walls, it has a similar feel to the Modern or the TRAC in Dallas. With a fabulous team and creative concept we transformed the venue entirely. Our ceremony took place on the prairie which is a plot of land with native flowers and Texas grasses. An overgrown tree towered over the couple as they exchanged their vows. Afterwards guests headed indoors for dinner and dancing. We started with draping the entire facility. We would turn the entrance/foyer into dancing and band setup. Then the exhibit areas would be for dining. Our biggest installation was to drape the entire staircase in organic cascades of moody toned floral. The was definitely a WOW moment for all to enjoy. Another great detail was the vertical lighting installation over the large floor to ceiling window that overlooked the prairie. As the sun set and guests danced the night away, the lights created a fun, party atmosphere. Modern and moody details can be found throughout from the bold floral detailed invitation suite to the cake and romantic guest tables in slate, mixed metallics with over abundance of candlelight. The party went late into the night where surprise treats from Salsa Limon and The Beignet Bus were well received by guests. Then to top the end of the night, a cute little pedicab took the couple away as fireworks shot off in the distance. It was a magical night indeed!!
