Southern, Bohemian inspired Austin wedding

Documents30

He’s from London, she’s a native Texan. They live in Los Angeles but since they call many places home, they picked their favorite jam, Austin Texas. Once they set their eyes on the dreamy grounds of West Vista Ranch, there was no other place for them.

Family and friends were directed by wooden signs under hanging lanterns and chandeliers to the ceremony site.  An antique sewing table held programs while wine barrels filled with Baby’s Breath and an arbor draped in vines and greenery completed the Bohemian vibe.

Carson donned a beautiful custom gown made my friend and designer, constructed of delicate floral straps that perfectly matched her boho braided hairstyle. Guests looked on under the shade of old oaks as she walked down an aisle of antique rugs to meet Matt who looked quite dapper in a navy suit and matching tie.

Large King Proteas were showcased in the bride’s stunning bouquet with additional pops of color from pink Astilbes and Dahlias. The creams, blushes and tans from the bouquets and bridesmaid dresses added softness to the day that paired well with the weathered wood and aged tin of the property.

An assortment of chairs and willow sphere lighting added a touch of Hill Country Charm to the reception while guests were treated to a variety of sweets including cookies, cakes and even an outdoor S’mores bar. The newlyweds were sent off in style under a tunnel of sparklers grateful for the support of their loved ones.

Citrus lake wedding among the pines in Tyler Texas

After two years in a long distance relationship, packed with memories of the great outdoors, Andrew knew the perfect way to propose.  On the morning of New Year’s Eve, the two hiked to the top of Enchanted Rock where he got down on one knee and presented Raquel with a sparkling rock of her very own.

Raquel and Andrew have fond memories of spending summers on the lake with their families, so when scooping out venues for their Texas-sized wedding, a lakeside affair made perfect sense.  The Lake Tyler Petroleum Club, located 90 minutes outside of Dallas, offered the tranquil outdoor setting they were looking for complete with tall pines and a waterfront view.

Walking beneath a stunning wooden ceiling of the Lakeside Clubhouse, Raquel met Andrew in front of the picturesque view of Lake Tyler to say “I do”.  Bridesmaids wore draped sage green dresses and carried bouquets of vibrant orange poppies, ranunculus and roses to match the bride’s fuller version.

Their beautiful March wedding was filled with delicate citrus touches as an ode to the spring season.  A variety of centerpieces showcased the natural tone of the wedding with potted plants, bud vases and wooden table numbers. Birchwood teepees cradled flowing greenery and flowers to add height to the ceremony space.  The dessert table continued the theme by adding oranges, limes and fern details to the collection of cakes.  Gold Chiavari chairs, sleek chargers and mercury glass votives lent a touch of glamour to the night that Raquel and Andrew were thrilled to share with family and friends.

Industrial design at The Rooftop Event Spot

Stephen had finally worked up the courage to ask Heidi on a date and wasn’t going to let a pesky conference call get in his way. So instead of waiting for another time, he slid his business card across the desk with a note on the back asking her out for a drink. Since it worked so well the first time, Stephen decided to propose in the same fashion. He handed Heidi another business card and got down on one knee. “If you want to get married sometime, text me or call me.”

Fast forward to their beautiful wedding at the Rooftop Event Spot in Downtown Plano.

Hanging Edison bulbs and a handmade pallet wall set the industrial tone for their ceremony site where Heidi donned a beaded gown and matching headpiece. Pink peonies and aqua bridesmaids lent pops of color to the springtime celebration. Their glamorous gold-accented wedding cake sat atop a tower of different flavored cupcakes including some of the couple’s favorites like carrot cake and strawberry. Concrete candleholders and assorted terrariums completed the look while guests danced the night away under the twinkling Texas stars.
