Grit + Gold designs an UP themed table for NACE DFW

Our table design begins with adventure. Our inspiration comes from the endearing movie, UP, but really tries to capture the loving nature in all children. We wanted to create a design that appealed to pint size adventurers but was still classic enough to entice those adults that realize you are never too old to have fun. We took our color yellow and added a variety of hues to create depth to the palette, and added a splash of gingham! Our hope is that children would immediately find a connection with the table, sit down and become a part of the script, and create their own adventure in the midst of the story.

All year we design weddings, engagements, showers and parties. It’s so nice and refreshing to get our hands on something that’s a little different and just simply put… FUN! We love kids, we love charities and we love our UP themed table for this year’s NACE DFW fundraiser benefiting Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We want to thank you to the lovely sponsors who helped bring our vision together. A big thank you to the Mamones for the photos!

Preppy couple, Lauren & Justin at Hall of State

They don’t live in Texas but when Lauren and Justin decided to tie the knot, they got here as fast as they could. The setting was the magnificent historical Hall of State at Fair Park. The beautiful blushing bride wore a Mori Lee design purchased at Terry Costa in Dallas while her bridesmaids looked beautiful in navy colored dresses from JCrew. The groom and his men wore suits from JCrew and Joseph A Banks with alternating bow ties or neckties, adorned with little sailboats from Vineyard Vines.
If I were to describe this wedding in a few words, it would be a nautical prep romance. From navy striped details, mini sailboats escort cards, and lanterns, a wonderful nautical vibe was created. Yet, a touch of prep and romance with bow ties, blush tone florals, and silver tea set centerpieces. It was personal and sweet with mini pecan pies, the groom’s favorite, and monogrammed cookies as treats for guests. Other details include a custom carved monogram for guest signing, and one very cool vintage Chevy Pickup departure with ribbon wands.
