I had the pleasure of sitting down with the lovely and crazy talented Ginny Au for tips on styling, design and taking about the overall experience we set for our clients. It was a fabulous day held at Hickory Street Annex with talented vendors such as Bows and Arrows, Frou Frou Chic, Signora Emare, Wallflower Management, Samuelle Couture, Script Merchant and more! Thankful for these images by Charla Storey to capture the fun. We discussed styling in a natural setting, letting our approach be humble and authentic with a minimal and effortless look. Being expressive, intentional and passionate. Tempting all the senses with fragrant floral, lighting and tangible mood boards. Creating an environment for clients to experience the journey of design. Oh did I love this class!! Ginny you are indeed a genius. Thank you for inspiring Grit + Gold to be better, and to see the world in all it’s beauty.
A Colorful and Geo Inspired Styled Shoot
To kick off our beautiful new studio digs, we pulled together some friends and created this lovely color popping shoot. We DIY’d the gold glitter cans for a great splash of gold and paired a basic classic yellow linen with a funky runner and napkin set from Target. SCORE! A few Etsy purchases later and some great tye dye balloons and BAM, a beautiful inspiration is created that is totally doable for any inexpensive party setting! Enjoy!

Grit + Gold Studio
We are so excited to be able to finally begin holding meetings at the new and improved Grit + Gold Studio! Here is just a peek of the new digs. Exciting things in store!
Calvin+Taylor wed at Howell Family Farms
Taylor + Calvin’s rustic wedding was as charming as their love for one another. Designed by Grit+Gold, the ceremony was set outside the barn at Howell Family Farms complete with hay bales, wooden cross constructed by groom and tons of the families antique quilts. The reception was held in the upstairs barn. Guests were greeted with beautiful table-settings under large chandeliers and soft drapery accented by the barn’s rich wood-workings. Tables were adorned with antlers, mercury glass, soft creme and deep red floral to set a winter ranch feel. On the sweetheart table, you could even find an old wooden pistol. Doesn’t get any more Southern than that!
