MaryEllen + Louis | Ashton Depot

Thank goodness Louis is better at a second first impression.  After their first meeting, MaryEllen was convinced he was more interested in his banana pudding (he did have 2 cups) than he was in her.  As fate would have it, they were given another chance to connect while hanging out with mutual friends shortly after that first encounter.

Fast forward four years, and Louis was able to surprise MaryEllen on their anniversary at their favorite Italian restaurant Margie’s. He asked her to marry him while a photographer captured the whole thing.  MaryEllen was surprised again at the end of the night when Louis had planned an entire engagement party at Chimy’s that included all of their family and close friends.

MaryEllen has always had a love for St. Patrick’s Cathedral in downtown Fort Worth and when she found out the priest she grew up with was being transferred there, she knew it was destiny.  They picked at a date in October and decided on a palette of navy, pinks, and berry tones.

Bridesmaids wore gorgeous long dresses with a blue floral print from Dessy and the groom looked quite dashing in a navy suit. Maryellen flew to NY to bring home the perfect gown from none other than Kleinfelds. Her hair pulled halfway up with a floral accent, she was just stunning with her ‘something borrowed’ diamond necklace from her mother.

Gold chivari chairs, gold chargers, gold votives and a golden overlays set the tone for a sophisticated evening and perfectly matched the couple’s invitation suite from Sweet Magnolia Paper. Friends and family were unable to stay in their seats when the band started to play and couldn’t help but get seconds for dessert. Cakewalk Bakeshop was able to construct a 4-tiered masterpiece with gold leafing filled with pistachio, strawberry and basil buttercreams as well as raspberry ganache. In lieu of a traditional groom’s cake, Steel City Pops was able to do a variation of Louis’ favorite treat – vanilla pop with Snickers crumble.

The happy Mr. and Mrs. were sent off in a tunnel of sparklers and were able to take a quick break before having to be at the airport by 3:30AM!! Congratulations you two!

Amanda + Nick | The Milestone

dallas-wedding-planner-the-milestone-grit-and-gold-anna-smith-photography21

You only need to turn onto the entrance of the Milestone to understand why Nick and Amanda picked this venue for their special day.  The beautiful white mansion, rustic red barn, and towering oaks in Aubrey, Texas are more than enough to make anyone swoon.

Walking into the Grand Foyer, guests were greeted with vintage handkerchiefs just in case they were overwhelmed with tears of joy during the ceremony. In lieu of a traditional guestbook, friends and family were asked to write down their favorite verse found in the family bible.

Looking quite debonair in a navy suit that perfectly matched the bridesmaids, Nick awaited his bride at the end of the aisle.  Amanda wore her hair in a glamorous up-do to highlight the sheer back of her beautiful dress. Accompanied by her father, the two walked down the greenery-adorned aisle to meet her groom. Standing in front of the 20-foot window wall with elegant ivory drapes, the couple said their “I Dos.”

After the ceremony, guest moseyed over to the barn for drinks, dinner, and dancing. Centerpieces of celosia, viburnum, amaryllis, and hanging amaranths continued the theme of deep berry hues and popped against the champagne overlays.  Hanging lights and crystal chandeliers lit up the dance floor while the band played under the LOVE marquee.

After elegant toasts from both families left everyone reaching for their handkerchiefs, it was time for cake.  A 3-tiered naked cake decorated in roses, astilbe, and privet berries stole the show while the Texas-shaped groom’s cake showcased the couple’s adorable puppy.

While loved ones lined up for a sparkler farewell, the new Mr. & Mrs. were able to steal one last dance alone. #LoveBrauchtThemTogether
