Fine Art in the Fort

Our team was super excited to plan and design a special fine art dinner to welcome Kate Holland, editor of Magnolia Rouge to Fort Worth. We scouted a very cool new venue spot on Race Street called The Post at River East. The venue was once home to Sylvania Station Post Office built in 1946. At some point in its history, the building burned and the walls have patina’d from age. They are simply beautiful and make such a cool California meets Texas vibe for any cool kids looking for something really unique.

Grit + Gold opens fresh digs on Camp Bowie

After two years on the Northside, we decided it was time to expand and to relocate. We hooked up with an architect, Domeo Design Build  and Jensen Commercial to build out the vision. While the process was extensive, we couldn’t be happier with the final product. Excited for new beginnings, a beautiful new space for our clients and the community that comes with Camp Bowie!

Taylor + Matt’s colorful, modern wedding at Artspace 111

When Taylor was visiting a friend in Oklahoma, she decided to tag along for family movie night. It was there, while watching Despicable Me 2, that she met her friend’s cousin Matthew. It didn’t take long for the two to hit it off. A couple years later during a romantic trip to Prague the pair came to the mutual decision to marry and began planning their Fort Worth wedding. Taylor had been driving by Artspace 111 since she was a little girl and knew it was the perfect place for their art filled celebration.  Glamour was present at every turn. The bride was the epitome of elegance in her BHLDN gown and floral crown.  A bouquet of berry scabiosas, pale pink roses, and vibrant pink peonies displayed Taylor’s love of pairing pastels with deeper hues.  The happy couple said their “I Do’s” under a gorgeous floral arch dripping in greenery with pops of cream, lilac and berry that perfectly complemented the backdrop of Michelle Brandley’s “Showgirls.” After the ceremony, guests were escorted to the tent out on the terrace sparkling with lights.  Each place setting was adorned in a variety of vintage china and gold silverware.  A runner of vines and greenery completed the royal look. The reception was filled with love, laughter and personal touches from the newlyweds. In lieu of a guest book, family and friends were requested for signed Polaroid snapshots.  Taylor even handmade all the watercolor signs that accompanied the Italian Soda station and place settings.  (Did we mention she also did her own hair and makeup?!) Not for the ordinary, the couple constructed a dessert table for the ages. A tower of multi-colored macaroons, assorted pastries, and five different cakes – including Burnt Sugar, Confetti and Mexican Chocolate.  At the end of the night, the two headed for their Uber getaway as guests sent them off under a tunnel of sparklers.
